  • EMBODI (Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence) for boys 11-18 years old.
  • Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy for girls ages 11-14 years old.
  • Delta GEMS (Growing and Empowering Myself Successfully) for girls ages 14-18 years old.

Today we are highlighting one of our several educational programs.  The Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy celebrates a successful year. Topics the Delta Academy covered this year: 

  • Physical and Mental Health
  • Stock Market & Investments
  • Money Management
  • Self-Care & Self-Esteem
  • Social Action & the Women’s Suffrage Movement
  • Outdoor Careers & Fun in the Sun with Soil Activity

We will resume in-person meetings in the Fall. Field trips, outdoor activities like hiking, guest speakers, community service projects, confidence/self-esteem building activities, and much more.

Fun in the Sun with Soil

YOU’RE INVITED: The Knoxville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. invites you to join the Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy for “Fun in the Sun with Soil” featuring Dr. Sharon Jean-Philippe, Professor of Urban Forestry at the University of Tennessee.We’ll also learn about outdoor careers. We want to instill in our young girls that they can do anything. They must continue to push, dream and strive for their goals. Plus, there will be games and prizes. Please join the fun!

Dr. Jeanne Noble Delta GEMS, “Being Bossed Up” workshop

The Knoxville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. invites teen girls, ages 14-18, to the Dr. Jeanne Noble Delta GEMS, “Being Bossed Up” workshop on October 9th at 10 am EST.

Girls will learn important life skills like how to dress for an interview, skincare, makeup application, building self-esteem, and more. Our guest presenter is Tierra Gwenn, a college student, owner of CharmedByT, and professional makeup artist who will give the girls the confidence they need to succeed!

Please join us for our virtual D.E.E.P. Kickoff orientation session on Sunday, September 19th, 2021, via Zoom at 3 pm EST. 

The Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy and Dr. Jeanne Noble Delta G.E.M.S. are free programs that assist young girls, ages 11-18, to prepare for full participation as leaders in the 21st Century. May Week 2021

Join the Knoxville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority for May Week 2021!
May Week is a national program of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. It was created at the second national convention at Wilberforce University in 1920. Its purpose is to emphasize the importance of higher education in the community, especially for black women.


2021 Collegiate Scholarships

The 2021 Knoxville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta collegiate scholarship application period is closed.

Delta Sigma Theta is an international public service sorority comprised of predominantly Black, college educated women. Since its founding more than 300,000 women have joined the organization. KAC encourages academic excellence through higher education. Scholarships are awarded to young African-American women who exemplify academic excellence, strong leadership, and community involvement.

There are TWO different collegiate scholarships available.

$1,000 Mu Zeta Collegiate Scholarship Qualifications:

-Applicant must be an active member of Mu Zeta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

-Minimum 3.0 GPA

-Applicant must be a rising junior or senior

$1,200 Dessa Blair Scholarship Qualifications:

-African-American Female-Education Major (Sophomore-Senior)

-Aspiring K-12 Teacher

-Minimum 3.0 GPA  -Knoxville Area Resident

Hearts for Haiti

It’s the season of LOVE! Knoxville Alumnae’s International Awareness and Involvement Committee invites you to support its Hearts for Haiti campaign! Donate to help the children of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Elementary School’s The Cynthia M.A. Butler-McIntyre Campus in the remote village of Chἐrette, Haiti. The funds will help with teacher’s salaries, school lunches, and school building operational expenses. Donate now through February 28th, 2021.
