International Menstrual Hygiene Day

DONATE TODAY: Menstrual Hygiene Day promotes global advocacy of menstrual health and hygiene for all women and girls. Support KAC’s International Awareness and Involvement by donating feminine pad products from now through April 24, 2023.

Anyone can donate! Donations will be used for menstrual health baskets for female international students at Bearden Middle, Northwest Middle, Austin-East High, and West High.

Menstrual Hygiene Day (MH Day) is a global advocacy platform that brings together nonprofits, government agencies, individuals, the private sector, and the media to promote good menstrual health and hygiene (MHH). According to WASH United, 500 million women and girls around the world don’t have what they need to manage their periods safely, hygienically, and without shame. This is due to a combination of lack of access to period products, lack of education about menstruation, and inadequate water and sanitation infrastructure.

International Awareness: Hands to Give

May 1st – 5th – The Knoxville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. wants you to help us empower women!

To overcome barriers to education and healthy living for young women and mothers of single-parent homes, KAC invites the community to support the cause to raise funds for young girls of the Ashanti Region in Ghana and Garífuna women of Honduras.

Some of the ways your donation will be used? $25 = food for 2 weeks for a family of 6. $5 = 6 packs of menstrual pads (lack of menstrual pads for these young girls can result in them missing up to a week of school per month).
