The Knoxville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. proudly celebrates the success of this year’s “My Vote Matters: Empowering Our Future Voters!” workshop. This event took place at the Emerald Youth Foundation in Knoxville, located at 1740 Texas Avenue, on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the more than 40 middle and high school students who participated in this event, dedicated to inspiring and empowering our youth as the next generation of voters.

This interactive, engaging, non-partisan educational experience taught students ages 11-18 how elected officials are chosen. Workshop facilitators included Knoxville City Councilwoman Gwen McKenzie, Knox County Election Commissioner Adronicus Thomas, Knox County Commissioner for District 1 Damon Rawls, and Domonica Bryan. Thank you chapter members, and members of EMBODI, GEMS, Academy & Social Action Committees for your support of this event, under the leadership of Delta LaKietha Jackson.
